So, I'm Thinking,

I'd like to try to buy something from every one of my favorite sellers. Maybe it's not reasonable to try to do this all in a year, but I think it'd be fun to try! I have already purchased from several of them, including:
Less 4 More - they have findings and charms for really great prices. I've ordered chains from them in both gold and silver, and been very pleased with the quality. The only draw back is an extended shipping time, since they're in Hong Kong.
Skunkboy Creatures - This is a longtime favorite that specializes in well dressed, adorable plushies. I recently snagged this sweetie:

vcying - my understanding is that this artist works in Disney animation, and her art is right up my alley. I was so excited to get my hands on this:

Sugar Robot makes the cutest cupcake toppers. I got these for someone as a gift, and literally sqealed when I saw them.

Boojiboo Aprons - What girl doesn't want one of these? I was lucky enough to get this one for Christmas.

Made By Hank - Everyone's favorite. I have bought several items from her, after Tim gave my my first tough ruffles zipper purse. I bought both of my sisters in law a zipper purse, and managed to snag a shoulder bag for myself...wonder of wonders, seeing as how quickly those disappear. Every girl should have the pleasure of sporting one of these bags.

(These are not my bags. Though I do wish they were.)
Only about 20 more favorites to go!

Snow

Despite temperatures well below freezing and this area's reputation for precipitation, we have only had one snow flurry this season. I watched it, mesmerized, as it danced by my window. In hopes that it will chose to return, I present to you:

Around the House

A glimpse into my home this time of year:
My new morning routine - a steaming cup of coffee in front of the tree

This tree is the result of 2 hours searching. It was so tiny it fit in the backseat of our car. We rectified that by setting it on a milk crate.
Last year I bought the these little critters for a steal. I think they spice the place up nicely. Also, note the Partridge in a Pear Tree picture from Jelly Beans. Cute, right?

My mom started these collections for me. My nativity, which I received the final piece for in September (Thanks Dad!), and my little village. My mom gave me something for this every Christmas, until I inherited pieces from hers.

I told you before I love Snoopy, and here he is, snoozing on our tree.

A few gifts tucked safely underneath.

I find a penguin ornament for Tim's stocking every year. I'm not even sure he's noticed the theme, but I like them, so why not keep it up?

One of my holiday Jelly Beans prints. One more should be getting here any day now.
How do you decorate? Do you have traditions, or special hand me downs? I'd love to hear about it.
Oh, by the way, I just put a ton of stuff in the store. Check it out!

Trimming the Tree

It's time to trim the tree! I am a huge fan of vintage and mid century modern style ornaments, so this post was a lot of fun to gather items for. I love the colors, the details, the delicacy of these items. So, without further adieu:

Etsy presents: Vintage ornaments

RoberaGrove brings us these beauties:

This 1950's tree topper would be a welcome addition to my tree, from carmenandginger

I am a sucker for reindeer. This one, from sofetchvintage, would be a sweet addition to the few I currently have.

I can't get enough of these colors. Who says Christmas is all red and green? Certainly not funkeyfinds.

We had tons of these wooden ornaments growing up. I love stumbling across these from DoNotDestroy.

My grandpa always dressed as Santa for a party we went to, and I swear he looked just like Norman Rockwell portrays him. Thanks, theatticshop, for the memories.

This wins the award for greatest color. It was made in Italy and found by sunnfox.

How do you like to decorate your tree? Are you all about the vintage, handmade, passed down, crystal...etc?

Feature Friends

I have many gifted friends, and some have their own Etsy shops. Today I'm going to show you the work of SariesXpressions. Sarah and I go to the same church and got to know eachother through community group. She is an amazing artist, utilizing upcycled cabinet doors, stamping, painting, buttons...anything that strikes her fancy. Here's some of my favorite pieces from her shop:
My current favorite is Little Birds - Original Recycled Kitchen Wood Drawer. I love the contrast and simplicity.

This one is gorgeous. Stormy Sail - Original Acrylic

This one is adorable. I've seen it in person, and it's the cutest thing. Pussy Cat - Original Recycled Cabinet Art

One of the first times we hung out with Sarah and her husband David we watched The Birds, so naturally that's what came to mind when I saw The Birds - Original Recycled Kitchen Wood Cabinet Art - though not nearly so terrifying.

I love the unique shape to this one, not to mention the metallic paint. Poppies - Original Recycled Solid Wood Cabinet

SariesXpressions also makes the sweetest cards, scrapbook kits (she made me a pre-made scrapbook for my birthday, it is beautiful), children's art, and takes custom orders. Her work is amazing, I put it to the test with a crazy card order and she exceeded my expectations. Check out her store!
